Weather Forecast System for the Ecuadorian territory. In this project, a fine mesh was designed for the Ecuadorian territory for use within the WRF-ARW numerical time modeling system. This meshing allows to have forecast information in a mesh and together with the variational data assimilation schemes 3D-VAR and 4D-VAR it is possible to obtain weather forecasts adapted to the country.

Assembly and deployment of the high-performance computing system HPC-MODEMAT. This project involved a team of specialists for the installation of servers, connectivity and software necessary to install a high performance computing system (HPC).

SVM for Object Detection

Mathematical Imaging

In this work, the average performance of an object detection system using an SVM classifier trained using different kernels was compared with the PASCAL Visual Object Classes (VOC) benchmark. The results indicate that the use of a radial basis function (RBF) kernel can improve the average accuracy of an object detection system by up to 15% depending on the object to be detected.
